Biography

David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., is a world-renowned expert in nutrition, leading the battle against the global obesity epidemic.

An accomplished professor, Dr. Heber is also the founding director of the Center for Human Nutrition at UCLA. For the past 25 years, he has been one of the country’s leading anti-obesity and nutrition expert. Additionally, he is the Program Director and Principal Investigator, UCLA Clinical Nutrition Research Unit, Nutrition and Obesity Training Program, and Center for Dietary Supplements Research in Botanicals, all funded by the National Institutes of Health.

As a speaker, his expertise is much sought-after by audiences around the globe and he has appeared on national television and in newspapers, including CNN, NBC, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times.

Dr. Heber holds a B.S. in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, UCLA, 1969; M.D. Harvard Medical School, 1973; and Ph.D. in Physiology, University of California, 1978. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Clinical Nutrition by the American Board of Nutrition.
